MOD

Our relationship with the MOD began back in 1998. Today, we have approximately 7000 soldiers enrolled on Apprenticeship schemes and 139 staff delivering these programmes throughout the UK and Europe. These schemes are funded through a national contract between the Army and the Skills Funding Agency, with The Colleges' Partnership being contracted as deliverer.

Current Apprenticeship schemes include:

  • Apprenticeship in Telecommunications
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance and Installation (Electrical)
  • Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage
  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Telecommunications
  • Apprenticeship in Public Services
  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Clinical Health Care
  • Higher Apprenticeship in Intelligence Operations
Our staff enrol the young soldiers onto the schemes as they pass through trade training. When the soldiers reach their Regiments/Battalions they are met by a Team Leader who arranges for the soldiers to complete their learning plans. Plans are negotiated in close conjunction with Army personnel in light of the soldiers’ commitments in the Regiment and elsewhere in the world.

We also deliver professional qualifications:

  • Teacher Training
  • Quality Assurance
  • Coaching and Mentoring
Throughout your study you will be fully supported by qualified and experience staff committed to learner centred learning, aided by our Moodle Virtual Learning Environment.

Our centres are equipped with the latest technology for delivering Functional Skills (English, Mathematics and Information Communication Technology). Team leaders and assessment staff deployed within the Field Army represent The Colleges' Partnership and their responsibilities include co-ordinating local activities, quality assurance, meeting contract requirements and delivering training and assessment.

As soldiers go on operational tours around the world, staff may have opportunities to travel to work with the learners and to date the team has delivered Functional Skills and NVQ provision in Northern Ireland, Brunei, Canada and Cyprus. Extensive communications systems have been set up to ensure efficient passage of information to all team members.
